Less than a week ago we spent one of the greatest celebration of the year.

Christmas.

Celebration of love and joy,

light and good will.

Little Princess was visiting.

As well as two of her cousins, too.

They decorated the Christmas tree.

And it turned quite shiny.

Early Christmas for me

I finally got a new laptop.

Some learning with it, though.

But I am so happy, happy, happy,

that I am now able to get photos from camera -

not to mention I don't need to try to write with mobile all the time.

A real Christmas gift!

Silence and first Advent

Still without laptop. 

Driving me crazy.

Writing with phone just isn't for me.

Maybe later.

My Advent home is almost ready, though.

How I almost failed in testing a product

Several years ago I had peritonitis after my appendix burst.

It all started with weird symptons: 

my belly made noises - very loud noises -

like I would be hungry.

Noise was so loud that my collegue could hear it to her workplace

- and we really don't sit very close to each other.

My belly was hurting time a time, but not badly.

And it also swoll up.

Financial statements July-August-September

Days, weeks and months run so fast.

And the money from my wallet.

There won't be any settling down

- it is clear, that I need to buy a new laptop.

And Christmas is coming, too...

But soon I'll have whole year accounting!

Happy and not so happy moments

Last weeks have been ups and downs.

Some days has gone fluently - but fast - 

and some not.

Today is one of those days,

when things are not going on very fluently.

We have few changes going on in Halkis.

Those have been prepared through summer

- and not quite finished yet, though.

One is, that our youngest son,

who happens to live still on the plot,

brought his girlfriend to live with him.

Summer holiday- started and ended with motorsport

I had two weeks summer holiday in August.

It started with travelling to Iisalmi for Supermoto race.

We didn't got our own car with us,

so I was stuck around to race track.

But. When we arrived and my son were in training,

I put my rubber boots on and left to woods for berry picking.

Preservation time

It is preservation time.

It has been a while already:

it started when blueberries were ripen in the woods.

And it will go on until apples and potatoes are harvest.

This year I have been making jam.

A lot of jam...

Financial Statements April-May-June

 I haven't given up counting,

where are our money are going.

I have kept book,

and now I finally got time to do counting.

Where to start?

June has almost gone.

It is hard to believe,

that it is already full summer.

But it really is.

My garden, in early June

I have had hands full lately.

But I am never too busy to take a round in my garden.

I just close my eyes from weeds,

and wander around...

When I came back home,

old apple trees had finished flowering,

but when I made a round in garden,

I found out,

that there was so much more blooming.

Tabasalu Estonia in haste

The very first race of Finnish Championship of Supermoto was in Tabasalu, Estonia last Sunday.

Leaving over there was uncertain until Saturday morning.

So there was a little hurry to buy ticket on board

and make reservation to the hotel.

Garden is growing fast

Last days weather has been great,

and garden is growing really fast.

Before out trip to Tabaslu, Estonia (more about it later),

Weather has been warm and sunny last days.

It has made garden in bloom.

Back home from Madona

We drove back to Tallinn faster than we drove from  Tallinn to Madona.

It is weird.

Does hubby drive faster?

We made few stops, which I felt longer than on Friday.

On Saturday morning we enjoyed a great breakfast 

- and a lot of coffee.

We really weren't in hurry,

breakfast was served for us at 7 o'clock,

so we had almost three hour before we should be at race track.So we headed to market,

which we saw opening from our room window.

Supermoto season has now really started.

It means, that I will spend time in pit stop kitchen

- as well I have a chance to travel.

I guess it can be called already a tradition,

that I spend 1st of  May weekend in Latvia.

First things first...

Now, when Supermoto Season starts again.

the very first thing for me is

to get my "First Aid bag" ready.

Of course there is First Aid Kit in car,

and there is also help around the race track,

but my bag is for different use.

Once upon a time....

Once upon a time there was a grandmother,

who asked her grandsons,

 if they would like to come over and help cleaning the yard.

Grandmother told,

that she would pay salary for the job well done.

"I'll come" said 7-year old.

"I might have something else to do", told almost 9-years old.

Decorating papercups

Spring is progressing so fast.

Liverleafs are blooming in the back yard.

They are so beautiful.

Spring also means Supermoto.

Season will start in no time.

And I will be spending several weekends in race track.

Cooking. Making coffee. Tensing.

Little chores here and there

Last days have been variable:

work and a little bit fun between daily life.

Like cleaning Motobiili.

Yep. Supermoto season is starting soon.

Dinners in March

Dinners in March were mostly very conventional.

The only exception was Vernal equinox,

- and even that was quite simple.

March: money gone, in where it was spent?

March was long.

And I knew already before counting,

we had spent a lot.

Way too much.

There is three sections were lower than earlier:

Ready meals, gas and treats.

Winter holiday

My winter holiday is over.

Boy, did I enjoyed it!

I loved most about the thing,

that I had time to do things.

There was no worry,

if I am able to finish the job

- there is always possibility to go on with it on the next day.

Like with  sewing.

Sewing

I am not a seamstress.

Not even close.

I don't have patient nor careful quality of mind.

But time a time I sew.

Even though my seams are not straight.

Few peeps and several branches

No grass this year.

Last year I had,

but I was sure, that kitten would ruin it anyway,

so I'll wait until next year.

But I do have few peeps.

On the wreath.

Vernal equinox is here again

It is hard to believe,

that winter is over.

Or at least in calendar it is.

Last two mornings it has been -10 C.

I know what I'll be doing during next week...

I slept a little longer on Saturday morning.

When I woke up,

I saw from window Hubby in backyard with the saw.

And he had been up few hours already.

and dinners in February...

It is clear,

that I cook too much.

Or maybe I just am wise enough to cook for two days at once?

So or not,

we have been eaten leftovers quite often again...

February Financial Statements

Even though February was two days shorter than January,

it didn't affect on our expenditures.

They were almost the same

or even bigger than in January.

Fire wood shelter

We have used wood for heating during winters all the years here in Halkis.

But how much has always depended on free fire wood.

Hubby have sawn it and cut it next to garage.

When we decided to use even more wood for heating,

we knew, that we need to start buying it.

And when you are buying ready made wood,

there is no point to storage it under open sky.

So we needed shelter for fire wood

- and I wanted it closer the house than garage is.

Tiny changes in living room

Kittens are growing fast,

and they are not climbing in curtains so much anymore,

so I finally was able to hang my nowadays favorite curtains up again.

I have been waiting for this from Christmas,

when we got new TV as Christmas present.

Cottage boudoir...

My cottage boudoir is finally done!

We started with wallpapers during last weekend,

and today I put last candle on the dresser.

Lately in my life....

Life has been very, well, daily life.
Kittens have been as wild as they use to be.
And also started to do attacts to run out.

They run under the thujas
-and then they start to cry,
that they are lost...

What was for dinner?

In December I started to write down, 

what we had for dinner each day. 

I went on with that on January. 

I am hoping that I would be able to use  these lists, 

when I will make a meal plan in future.

Every penny is count

After depression of 90s', my hubby has been unemployed in winters.

When the ground freezes, his job is done.

And we don't know, if he'll go on in the spring -or if he does, when.

Firm he worked for, might have gone with the wind.

I should get used to it already.

But I really haven't.

Anxiety hides around the corner.

So I count pennies.

Anniversary and Valentine's

When it came time to take Christmas decor down,

I couldn't pack away all of it.

Maybe because I couldn't put up so much decor as I would like to

- just that the house would be safe to kittens.

So I left some,

but made few changes.

...and bathroom closets are done

All of them.

Not that there would be much work.

But I got rid off several pine cones,

which I have used in decoration.

Cleaning closet...organized?

Weather has been extremely cold last days.

After -25 to -30C today's -15 feels warm.

Weather have been perfect for cleaning freezer.

But I haven't done it.

I have been put few closets in order.

What if...? thoughs in time of wolf...

I have been sick.
Normal winter-flu turned into high-fewer-earinfection.
Weather cast had promised snow and frost from east.
So, when I woke up in pain in the time of wolf,
I started to think What if...?

As our main heating in the house is electric,
anykind of storm,
that could lead to power outage,
is a problem.
Not huge in normal situation,
because we have a possibility to heat the house with wood, too,
But.
At the night,
when I woke up,
there was no fire wood in the house
- and I knew,
that there won't be anything ready to carry in, either.

And there comes What if...?
What if hubby gets sick before he have made fire wood again?
And What if wind and snow will cause power outage?
What am I able to do then?

I don't know how to use chain saw safely.
Not to mention,
that I probably wouldn't be able to start it, either.
I know, I am not able to pull off the lawn mower...
And I am not very good with hand saw.
Not to mention the axe.
Would I use kitchen knife to cut the wood?

I know, that our eldest son knows how to use chain saw,
but he lives several kilometers from here
-and snowstorm might cause roadblocks, too.
So that is not a real option.

Our closest store sells fire wood (on extreamly high price),
but it is 3,5 kilometers from here.
If the power is off from larger area,
they won't be selling anything.
If I would manage myself there.
I guess not.

Even though all of these were thoughs in the time of wolf,
in the morning I took my phone and started calling:
Idea was, that I would buy some ready-made fire wood.
Just in case.
But have anyone managed to reach anybody between Christmas and New Year?
I didn't.
So, until next week we just hope,
that hubby will stay in health
-and if needed, use all the blankets in the house.
