Dog and frog

I don't know how this happened.

But I am staring at this kind of views in the mornings...

Poor garden plot

I am not a passionate gardener.

I love my garden, and seeing the miracle of growing,

but if the weather is bad,

I won't work there.

Not in rain,

and not in the heat like we have had last week and half.

So, my garden plot is in quite bad shape.

But is is growing!

My Martian

My younger daughter had a great hurry into this world.

The hurry scared her, too, so she was all green.

We call her Martian.

What else she could be?

Just an other normal day

We have got heat.

And it is promised to go on over the weekend.

Otherwise it has been just normal daily life.

After coming home from work

quick dinner.

Then I have washed rugs:

Cherry liqueur and Mini-Cherries

Our older cherry-tree go bugs few years ago,

and died.

It was sad,

because it bloomed nice,

and was beautiful,

when it was full of cherries.

Not for us, though:

if I wasn't fast enough,

thrushes ate them all...

Making Milfoil oil

Milfoil (Achillea millefolium) is one of my favorite plants.

Not because it's smell.

Or it's propensity to spread.

Or it's flowering either.

But it's skill to heal the skin.

Time to smell the roses...

It has been hot.

Heat.

The lucky ones are on holiday.

Well, I am not.

I have got guests.

Casanova - or as we call him, just Nova:

By the sea shore

We made a quick trip to the sea shore yesterday evening.

I needed to smell the salt.

We drove to Kaivopuisto,

which is one of the most beautiful parks by Helsinki sea shore.

Day off

I had one day of my summer holidays on Friday.

Mine or someone else's?

House full of peonies

Last days has been warm.

Lovely, lovely warm.

I have filled living room with peonies.

When I sit on couch in the evening,

I can see and smell them.

On my right:

This year blooming has been 

so unbelievable rich.

During I have been just hanging around the garden,

hubby has been busy.

I just love summertime!

Surface drain

During repairing exterior cladding

my hubby decided there have to be 

surface drain beside the wall, too.

So he dug side of the wall open.

And we had a drain project.

Which was put on hang for a while.

Gladly not until fall.

Fishing

Going fishing is not so simple.

At least at our house.

First has to decide if wants to go by the sea or by the lake.

As we fish with hook and line with worms,

there are not so many limitation of places

- well, it is not allowed by the Kerava river banks close to us...

My favorite island front of Helsinki.

There we used to fish when I was a child. 

But.

No own boat and connection ferries will stop at 9 p.m.

So no.

Wandering around

What can you do,

when dentist tells you after taking off your wisdom tooth,

you are not allowed to do anything,

you have planned during weekend?

No washing carpets.

No carrying sea-sand to slope.

No digging.

No cleaning (wo-hoo!).

I have just wandered around.

It is shining!

During last weeks it has rained.

Boy, it really have rained.

And been cold.

But today

- today when I came home,

the sun was shining!
