A flu

I have a flu.
Nasty, tiring flu.
Not bad enough to stay in bed,
but nasty enough to get you sneeze and cough all the time.
Thanks for the grandchildren, I guess.

Little thoughts

My grandparents got married in August 1917.
They were married 40 years, had 6 children.
I never met my grandfather,
he passed away 1958.

Christmas flowers

My Christmas time isn't Christmas time without flowers.
I love the smell of cinnamon, clove and ginger,
but I am able to live without them.
But flowers - specially hyacinth - that is a total must.
No matter how much I am sneezing,

when they are in bloom.

Turquoise Christmas, first decors

I usually start Christmas decoration early.
Not everything at the time.
It starts from Kekri
and during the weeks till Christmas
I put up more and more...

Short notes long

After five long months
Lithuan insurance company and Motor insurers' centre done their agreement,
and we were able to get Chrysler home.
Still not sure,
if it is wise or not.
Probably not.

Hard work...perhaps

Writing things down seems to be hard work.
Physically work:
take laptop, open it,
take phone,
connect sd-card to laptop…
and pick up kitten down from table (and laptop)…
and pick up kitten down from table (and laptop)…
I might get some muscles.

It rains again

On 19th of July I wrote:
"I have nothing to say.
I spend my days at work.
Come home,
make dinner.
Or serve leftovers.

Midsummer at the garden

We are spending Midsummer weekend at home.
No festival, no summer cottage, no camping area.
Just home.
And garden.

June

It is almost summer solstice.
In my world days have blended like pearls -
one after the other,
and then,
runned around when the chain has broken.

Cesvaine Evangelic Lutheran Church

Cesvaine was full of old, beautiful buildings.
We came across Evangelic Lutheran Church by fortune.
Well, it could not miss,
if driving at least right side of the town
It was rising high,
reaching up to the sky.

Cesvaine Pils -castle in Cesvaine

On the 1st of May weekend it was fifth time,
when we spent it in Latvia.
And I can say,
that I haven't seen much more than race tracks over there.
So this time we did it differently.

A stormy journey across Estonia

Two weeks ago, April 29th, we step on board in Helsinki
and started our yearly travel to Madona, Latvia.
Weather was bad,
wind blew in the gust 25 m/s
- and even Megastar was swinging in the wind.

Streetfood by SantaMaria Finland

As a Buzzador, I get sometimes samples to test.
This time it was Santa Maria's Street Food.
Pulled salmon wraps.
It was all new for me.

Something for Easter

Even though Easter isn't a greatest feast at our house,
I use to put up some decor for it.
Sometimes more, sometime less.
I guess this year is less.

More light around

Last weeks have been, well, variable.
Moments of good, moments of... not so good.
Some days I have seen all our, or at least mine,
future plans flown down the drain.
Some days have just passed by.

The Dog tests: Beyond Simply 9

As a Hopottaja,
I get time a time different kind of products for test.
This time I got dog food.
Not for us, but for The Dog, who lives at our house.

By the Beach

I spent half of yesterday by the sea.
Actually by the one of the best beach in Helsinki,
in Hietaniemi.
Not sunbathing, though.
But following cyclocross race.

Bicycle riding has become a part of our life,

but I haven't paid much of attention of it yet.
And I am not the one,
who is having a new hobby.
Our son's girlfriend drives.
So I want to understand it, too.

Hietaniemi was the one of the beach I spent a lot of time,
when I was a child.
Mostly in summers, of course,
but time to time I visited there also in winter,
when I was older.

When I moved away from Helsinki,
visits over there came more and more rare,
until they practically stop.
So it is a "happening" for me,
when I travel there.

Shore itself haven't chance much.
There is still that small island front of it,
now the electricity pylon is more showy with it's blue color.
When the water was low,
it was possible to get there without swimming.
I wonder if it is possible nowadays?

The rocks on the left are not so high,
as they looked at child's eyes,
but I could see they are still smooth.
Didn't climb up, though.
Not because of ice and snow.
There is a new building, cafe, I think,
We used the old one. The pavilion.
The one with wooden floors,
where sand rustled under the feet.
Time makes memories golden...
Next to beach there is cemetery.
My father, two of his brothers,
and of his sisters is buried there.
Old fashioned family grave.
Visited there, too.
When I was watching ice fisher on the bay,
I realized,
that I haven't ever been ice fishing.
Should try it at least once.

Financial statements, closing the year

Last three months went like the others:
we bought food, clothes, paid bills...
But now I have the whole year information of where all our money have gone.
