C'mon!

Don't you think it is enough of this already?!?!?

Is this the price we are paying from warm winter?

At least my Rose of the black Sea is blooming:

Full of hope

Even though it has looked like we'd have less Arianta arbustorum as during last years,
they are not gone.
Oh, no.
instead my squash are eaten:

Yep.
So I put some potatoes in place of them.

Southern slope

Next to southern side of the house is slope.
There grows few bushes
- under couch grass.

"Not in the eyes, not in the mind"
- it is around the corner,
so slope will seen only from the road passing by...

Some of the flowers has managed over there:

Celebrating time

Tonight we are celebrating.
Just with coffee and a cake
- if it ever gets done.
For Motorist's birthday.
And because our Eldest was accepted to Nursery School.

What a great day
- even though it is cold and it rains.

Happy birthday and congratulations,
to my children!

Summer wreath

As I finally got summer flowers,
I - naturally - needed a summer wreath.
So,Spring wreath had to go.

I took off yellow roses,
and put on daisies.
And two chrysanthemum,
which I really remembered, I even had.

During this week I have spent a part of my summer holiday.
Wind has blown from Arctic Ocean.
It has rained.
There has been hails.
There has been sleet.

Shore of driftwoods

I love painting.
Not walls, but pictures.
I mostly use oil colors.
During the last decade I had a change to spent almost three years with painting.
And I painted.
At least 6 hours a day.
I also joined  few shared exhibitions and some of my own, too.

Living room - have to change, too

As our living room is connected to dining space,
it cannot be filled with very opposite color.
Or it could,
but I couldn't stand it.

So some changes over there, too.
It started earlier
- already before race in Imatra with first peonies:

June 16, 2014

Dining area - opposite to green

I wanted pink in my life.
But not too much.
So I have used fuchsia, magenta and other red tints.
And I had my new peony lights.
And a bowl.

Repairing exterior cladding

Exterior cladding on southern wall has gone in terrible shape:

The wind and snow hits straight on to it.
Not to mention the sun.
Closer look tells the whole truth:

Little red into little toilet

I am going on with red.
I started with bathroom
- and went on with small toilet.
What was planned as "boy's bath"
- at least I was.
Seems not to work well.
They walk through the house to wash their hands
instead using this next to outdoor.

So it need not to be so masculine.
And gets some rose red.
A rug (from Ikea):

And soap:

Just a tiny drop of color:

Cheers me up,
hubby hasn't noticed yet.

Weed of the week - horsetail

My garden is full of weeds.
Some are liked, some are not.
I know, there are people, who thinks,
that any plant growing where it shouldn't be, is weed.
I don't feel that way.
But even I have some plants I cannot stand all over.

I am not sure if horsetail is one of them.

Horsetail is a fun looking weed.
When I was a child,
we imagined with my friend,
that early spring horsetails are growing snakes...

Even though we already then knew,
they aren't,
I still get shivers around them.

Their roots are sly.
They are brown or even black
- and s they are hard to see.
And to boot, they look like dead:

During the early summer they grow
and soon they looks like trees of fairies:

If I would have household silver,
I would pick them and polish my silver bright.

I haven't, so I just weed them.
If I don't have better things to do.

Buzz -Shredded Wheat

I am a Buzzador.
It means I get occasionally  products to explore.
And sometimes also samples to give for friends, too.
This time it was Shredded Wheat.

These are wheat,
stuffed with strawberry, raspberry and cranberry.

And so we tasted them...

Sun and rain

It is raining today.
Last days at home I just have wandered around the garden.
To the back yard.

And front...

Camping in Imatra

We traveled to Imatra on Saturday.
Supermoto races, of course.
Perhaps the last of the season in Finland.

We arrived earlier than normally.
Already about 6 p.m.
During the time we waited a person bringing us a cabin key,
I admired flowers growing through the asphalt:

Cabins were in the woods:

Did we spent the evening admiring sight or the city?

Imatra in my mind...

Next Supermoto race will be in Imatra on Sunday.
Last one in Finnish Supermoto series.

As  I am a cook at the pit, I did shopping today:

The rest will be collected from kitchen cabinets.

This has been hectic week,
so I felt I have earned some flowers, too...

Blogger meet by Kotipuutarha-magazine

I was invited to Blogger meet sponsored by Kotipuutarha -magazine.
Kotipuutarha is a garden magazine published by Garden Association.

Kotipuutarha sample number 3/2013
When invitation came, I first couldn't believe it.
Is this true? Is this a joke?
Is this some kind of junk-mail?

Then I was thrilled. Boy, I really was excited!
And curious. And flattered. And overjoyed. And thrilled. And...
I almost could't wait.
I googled if there been a lot of meets like that,
but could't find any but few fashion ones.
Was this really the very first one and I was in?
Whooot!

I need pink!

I am tired in green at the house.
There is finally enough it outside.
I need pink.
Or at least rose red.
Or something.

I dig out decoration stuff I have
and started in bathroom.

Towels:

Nailbrush I bought from Tiger's in winter:

Around him there are few old rose soups.
Or what is left of them.

Fairy tail dudes in cottage's garden

In grandma's house yard is growing few trees:
birches, pine, spruce and oak.
They have spread their roots all over
and make it very shaded.

So I let all little trees growing from seeds grow
and call it fairy tail garden.

There lives rooster and his wife:

He is little shy:

Frog with his friends:

conch, of course:

Friendly snake by the dry sand brook:

squirrels:

There lives also few elfs,
but they didn't want to get photographed.

Surprises are  always welcome
- like blooming rhododendron.

At the garden plot

Last two days I have spent at garden plot.
Weeding.
Carryng soil.
Sowing.
It is almost done:

Beans and peas.
Carrots and some black roots.
Onions.
Dill.
And of course marigolds.

I guess I cannot wait many poppies,
as ant has made a nest in them:

Potatoes are not there yet.
And squash will also wait a while.

I use to sit on the bench and look around.
This is what I see on the left:

and right:

My garden plot won't ever be exemplary
and I'll never feed my family with it.
But I love it.
